Testimonials

“We’ve been a Paducah Power Fiber customer since the beginning. Our service just runs, and the performance is second to none. During the ice storm of 2009, we had two damaged fiber lines. One line was repaired the day it was reported. The other was repaired in only a couple of days.”

"As a long-standing customer, we can confidently say the fiber services and support team at PPS FiberNet are nothing short of amazing. The products are affordable, the uptime is 99.99%, and their response is fast. During the aftermath of the 2021 tornado in Mayfield, we watched as their team immediately responded and worked day and night to quickly restore services. We are proud to partner with a company that shows such dedication and respect for their clients and community."

Paducah Power has been an invaluable partner in our mission to drive economic development in Western Kentucky since we began in 2017. Their fiber network is a strong backbone for our operations as we host virtual business-building workshops, facilitate community outreach events, and power dozens of startups every year. Many, many remote workers, freelancers, founders, entrepreneurs and their growing teams could not do what they do without the reliable internet services of Paducah Power’s FiberNet.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is fiber internet?

Data moves through glass fibers in a cable, making it the fastest broadband technology currently available.

Which internet plan is right for me?
Internet speed is the amount of data sent at any given time, so think of your internet connection as water flow. Our Select service is the water faucet of options. It’s going to be enough flow for most households who stream video, browse the internet and do basic gaming, even with multiple devices at the same time. If you have a large home with a lot of devices, appliances, and a home security system hooked to one network, then you may want to crank up the flow with our 1 gig Premier service. If you want the Niagara Falls of internet for the serious gamers and people working from home at your house, then you can opt for the Superior service that provides 2 gigs.
What equipment is required?

PPS will provide a router and an ONT (Optical Network Terminal). PPS owns both the ONT and the router, and they are to be returned to PPS if you end your internet service with us. There is no additional cost for using the PPS router. You may use your own router, but there is no discount for that, and PPS cannot provide support for customer owned equipment.

How does the billing work?
Internet and electricity are billed separately, so you will receive separate statements for each. Internet payments are always due on the 27th of each month.
Are there any contracts?
No. Service will be month-to-month and will not require a contract.
Can I order service if I rent my home?
Yes, but it requires the permission of the landlord who owns the property you are renting.
Will there be data caps?
Heck no, we hate data caps.
Will PPS offer video or voice service?

No, we only offer internet.

What if I want to cancel my PPS FiberNet?

Since there are no contracts, you may leave any time by calling 270-575-4000. You must return your router and ONT to PPS within ten days of cancellation. If you do not, the cost of the equipment will be added to your bill.

What happens if I move to a neighborhood PPS FiberNet doesn’t serve yet?
Your service will end, and you will not be able to receive internet from us until we add your new neighborhood to our network. We encourage you to fill out the form that indicates you are interested in PPS bringing FiberNet to your new neighborhood.
What are the fine details I don’t like to read but should anyway?

FiberNet Home Internet Support FAQs

My internet doesn’t work.
  1. Check that both the ONT and the router are powered up and connected to a working electrical outlet. There should be green lights on top of the ONT and the back of the router. Reboot both devices by unplugging them for 15 seconds. Give both pieces of equipment five minutes to reestablish connectivity to our network.
  2. Check your device to make sure you are connected to the correct WiFi network.
  3. If your Internet is still not working call PPS FiberNet at 270-575-4000 for assistance.
How do I reboot my router?
There are no power buttons on the ONT or router. Reboot both by unplugging them from the power outlet for 15 seconds. Give both pieces of equipment five minutes to reestablish connectivity to our network.
My wifi seems slow. (Things that affect wireless performance.)
  1. Ensure no other routers or hotspots are operating inside the home. Routers from another internet provider or phone hotspots can interfere with the signal from PPS provided equipment.
  2. Ensure the router is not behind a TV, in a cabinet, or has objects placed directly beside it.
  3. As you move farther away from the router performance will decrease. Connection outside the home cannot be guaranteed. Our router is designed to provide full coverage inside the home only. For larger homes we recommend adding a wireless extender for an additional $7 per month. Please contact us at 270-575-4000 with any questions regarding the wireless extender.
  4. Reboot router to prompt optimization of WiFi settings.
I can see my WiFi network but can’t connect to it.
  1. “Forget” the network on the device you are attempting to connect from and reconnect.
  2. Reboot the device you are attempting to connect from.
  3. Verify you are typing in the correct password. You can verify or reset your password using the Plume HomePass App.
  4. Please call us at 270-575-4000 for assistance if you are still unable to connect. PPS does not have access to your password but can assist in troubleshooting connection issues or resetting your password
What is the Plume HomePass App and how do I use it?
